post charts you like from it. or complain about how you got a song about as chartable as a 100 bpm metronome. or complain about how the person who charted your song couldn't tell a 12th from a 16th if their life depended on it
cool lower world style chart from nonyu to vela. wouldve accepted this if it was submitted to it. also has a 6key chart
zeta lucked out and got a neat late-hsmp style chart for this. reminds me of night of nights in hsmp 10 in particular. cant wait for the o2 AAA on this
also i'd comment on my own chart but i already did in the readme in the chart. spacegorillas chart for my song isnt particularly good but i was just looking for something funny anyway, which i think it accomplishes. some of the 32nd streams were pretty similar to what i put down in my wip before i stopped so thats neat
also vela's explorer-10 chart looks sick. already got emplir 2 like 1 month after the original
skimmed through it, didn't get a chance to play through everything yet besides the standout stuff
my chart was a lil underwhelming to me cause i was on a tight deadline. work made it really tough to find time to chart in just a few weeks ending up in me basically making the chart from start to finish in 2 days. also didn't help that in one of the weekends there was a nearly city-wide power outage where i live, making me completely unable to chart in one of the free slots that i've had
but i think more time wouldn't have done wonders for it since the song was quite simple
the song i sent got a very disappointing chart, unfortunately
i know i shouldn't really be picky about it but much of it seemed just thrown together without significant thought on the chart as a whole, but i take it that the song itself was complicated to chart for, given the charter probably looked at my player rating and thought "ah, i should dump this but i dont know how"
mika's venetian snares chart is monumental
graeme said it first but this is chart of the year. not to spoil it but
Every single year that goes by I dont participate in these and then wish I did. I always just assume that with my luck I'll be forced to step abysmal dogshit and my song will get sent to someone who installed arrowvortex 10 minutes before the submission deadline.

i get this though honestly the appeal for me is being forced to chart something outside of the comfort zone of what i usually chart. like the song i got last year was abysmal dogshit i'd never listen to, let alone chart, but it was a fun challenge trying to make something interesting out of it anyway (especially since the person i was charting it for was only ~20 msd iirc), and it made me come up with a few neat patterns
(granted, this year the song i got wasnt that good and didn't particularly push me to do anything unusual but. sometimes that happens. at least ive seen some people who really liked the chart anyway)
there is the issue when sending a song in of "anything i'd be interested in sending i could probably do better than 99% of entrants", but that's why i usually just send in something that i think is fun to chart regardless of experience or tech-dump spectrum inclination rather than actually sending in something i really want a good chart for

Yeah thats another big problem ive run into. Not only what you described but also the fact that I think most of the music I listen to falls more in the "wacky bpm wigglepunk telecastercore" category rather than "easy and fun to chart". There's also my absolutely massive swings in motivation- I've basically been pseudo-retired for a few years at this point, outside of my efforts on discomfort revisited I only make like 3 or 4 files a year if im lucky. So while I definitely vibe with the appeal of being forced outside my comfort zone to improve as a charter theres a solid chance that when the actual secret santa rolls around thats not gonna be how I'll feel and just want to do more of my own shit. Especially now that I've started fucking around with xmod shit thats kinda where I want to focus my improving as a charter efforts right now and in my efforts to do that I'd rather experiment with that stuff in the comfort of my own wips folder rather than turning little timmy's favorite anime OP into a gimmick filled pile of poorly thought out experimental unreadable abysmal dogshit.
All that being said it doesnt change the part of me that wants to participate in something and make little timmy happy that someone charted his song, so I do this little internal battle every year and the lazy jaded fuck part of me ends up winning.
