| not an official place to post scores for the leaderboard (probably), just another place to discuss the event link to the official page: https://community.etternaonline.com/t/e ... son-1/3083 some of my better scores
if i wasnt as skill issued on futuristic love and was willing to grind for good runs on express love and love tropicana i could maybe go for #1 in lower but i don't like grinding scores so. probably wont go back to improve anything. looking forward to trying the extra charts next week |

| Happy that an event like this is happening in EO. can't hurt having a few more "etterna-wide" events :) I'm kinda forced into Advanced tier with all the big boys, so not going to try to set notable scores, but i might improve them a bit next week as this session was a bit slow. Have the same issue in FFR if i participate in OTs there most likely. If i improve any bit, i could end up in the highest group and get crushed in round 2 or 3 maybe. Life Hard. 96,73% on Toromi hearts 2 97,73% on Love The Subhuman Self 99,03% on [2-3] Maldito Amor 97,50% on Shape of My Heart (not even beating a 97,99% from 2022) some tech, some jacks and some js seems to be the trend for this time. Not sure what to discuss so uuuh: love the subhuman self >= toromi hearts 2 > maldito amor > shape of my heart Hadn't played Toromi2, Subhuman nor Amor before, and i'm glad they were decent/good charts. Toromi was definitely the wildest pick, with the chart being so messy, but cool to now have played. |

There's a fair bit of leniency with the brackets; you're allowed to try the bracket below what your MSD suggests as long as you're not completely destroying everyone else (which is why quite a few 28-29 MSD players are in intermediate) Interesting ratings on the charts, you are probably the first person to like toromi hearts 2 more than shape of my heart lol Regarding the pattern trends, the idea for the brackets is to have a balanced mix of skillsets. No chordjack but that's mainly because neither Zeta nor I play chordjack enough to find good chordjack picks usually (especially for the MSD ranges we are working with) |

Good to keep in mind for the next time. I could try lower charts and compare posted scores to see if i would fit. I enjoyed shape of my heart more than in previous runs, but that's because i set the Etterna volume to 0% and put on Traumwelt instead (real thoughts: I think Toromi is just more interesting. Shape of my heart has two cool parts and then 4 minutes of ok patterning) |

| What a great event It was a nice way to find new charts to play, and i'm quite happy the bonus charts included one that was hella fun. I'm not a competitive guy, so my final rankings were "good enough", but still funny that i got by faaar the worst score on Love & Break Out ahaha I noticed a lot of chatter in the thread on EO from people that didn't like the scoring system, but it seems to me like the used system worked just fine. The rating numbers seem not like absolute rankings, and is more just a guide to find who are above and below it. Works in my book  Only bad part about the event was the number of people who didn't play all 5 charts in a bracket. All those N/A's are sad to look at :c. Hopefully more people complete the set as the seasons continue c: And as for the bonus chart ranking: Marisa >>> do you love kepogata > love & break out >= say my love > heart of light The marisa chart scratches and itch that few manage to, and i am so happy it was included here. Say my love was a IIDX tournament file, Love & Break Out fits perfectly in the bracket (and caught me off-guard), kepogata is kinda stupid but fun, and heart of light was... difficult. It kinda made Bonus into an alternate Advanced bracket. |

ty for the thoughts, glad you enjoyed. not surprised you struggled with love & break out since you don't use dotmines; chart's probably way harder with big mines also agree that i think the issues ive seen stated w/ the rating system are a bit overblown; there's definitely issues but i think it does a pretty good job at what its intended to do (judge overall performance in the bracket) glad you enjoyed marisa. heart of light was a really silly pick that we only did because it was too funny to pass up and it seemed like everyone competing for #1 in the bonus bracket could play it (the turnout of high level players was slightly unexpected, but i also didnt think zeta was going to @everyone for the event). we probably wont pool anything *that* hard again |

| Season 2 thoughts! The poster was really well made =). Eyecandy for sure. Expert charts The four initial charts were roughly in two categories: stream-dump and wristjack. I kinda suck at wristjacking unfortunately, so ended up quite far behind on Tenshi and Last Battle (people are cracked at those files). Last Battle is enjoyable to play though, so i will give it points for that. Beautiful song was decently fun, and i managed to somewhat keep up with the big guys in it :D. Only Real had mines that made my 98% a fluke i just had to accept as my pb. Surprisingly meh chart from the otherwise quite good Pull. One Reason Why on the other hand is a fantastic chart, and i am so glad i now know about it! It's apparently a divisive file where some people don't like it... which i will blame on a lack of good taste. Ended up at 9/11, and at the back of a chunk of 4 people in the 30s rating. A liiiittle bit better wristjacking, and i could maybe have gone up to 6th. Given the charts i am content. Bonus charts I spent soooo maaaany attempts to finally pass Bowser's Castle with a high A. The chart's pretty fun once i stopped dying so much, but man did it tear me up over and over again. I had to enter practice mode and hit the ending a dozen times before i finally could read it. What a mean chart. Final crisis was cool to play, but overall a bit uneventful. Pokemon glitch battle was quite entertaining with its jank patterns and hard bursts. Good choice :). Hallucid exists. Finally, i did give MERCILESSNESS DESPERADO a fair shot, and was promptly torn apart, melted in an industrial smelter into a fine paste, painted onto the inside of a nuclear warhead and atomically split asunder. Looking at it in the preview was quite entertaining though! The only reason i was not last place in the bonus category, was because the others below me didn't play all charts (why do people do that i wonder?). Fucks / Sucks graph Why not play the other brackets too? Very well could have, but i did not want to set scores in brackets where i am above the skillevel of most people there. My speedplayer style would mean i'd have zero chance of actually winning any of them, but still. No shame on people that did, i just personally don't want to crash into a lightweight tier as a mid/heavy-weighter. Fun to play this season, and looking forward to the next one =) |

forgot to respond but thank you for the feedback as always (the usage of the fuck/suck graph is also appreciated) the only thing i know for real was a surprisingly divisive chart overall; some really liked it and some didnt tenshi was supposed to be a "middle ground" between the stream-dump and wristjack dichotomy you pointed out, with the broken handstream being the main difficulty point for most people rather than the chordjacks. a fun fact is that originally expert was pretty much all stream-dumps until i pointed out to zeta that the entirety of the expert pool was from valedumps and we should probably change that unfortunately i didnt participate myself this season; partially due to lack of motivation for the game in general, and partially because i already had really good scores on a lot of the charts pooled and it's frustrating trying to compete with those... maybe next time |
