calling georgia camp ODIesque is crazy but i can kinda see it
also i'd be doing more reviews for this pack but due to unexpected circumstances i just cant use my room for a few days so. will do that later
imo its not THAT unlike some of the swingy files in ODI 3, including some of scintill's own
also, looking forward to em

Realm 4 (Cont.)

[4-6] Hand of Sorrow - 8/10

Good Mina compilation. Static 24ths from Mina 1 and 2 era, sensible yet challenging 32nd light js chorus from some of his later work, and ctrl + r shenanigans. I worked very hard on this chorus and I am overall pretty happy with how this turned out. I also really love this song.

[4-7] Rhythm Gamer's Worst Nightmare - 7/10

This feels very HSMP-coded. It is very reliant on how fast you can trill and I like that a lot; it's also justified. I think this file fits in pretty snuggly amongst the other boss files--the song also has a lot of charm. I took some points of here and there because there are a few messy sections in the "27" difficulty. I was always more of a fan of the lighter difficulty...anyways, cool file nonetheless and definitely one that I will try my hand at again soon.

Realm 5

[5-1] Halloween - 10/10

I'm incredibly biased here. I've been playing this file since I was 13 years old. It's been a personal favorite of mine since then (this was the first file I made a stepmania video for ever) I think it is a perfect invocation file for this pack because its got a lot of aura and also further nails down the spooky atmosphere. I think Halloween still holds up when judged against other more simplistic technical files, btw. A lot of great decisions made by Reach makes this file a very fun challenge for quadding.

[5-2] E.E.T. - 9/10

I mean, based Scintill. Hi, Scintill! This was originally submitted to discomfort then pulled, beefed up, then sent to me. I absolutely hate this song choice, but the decisions made here are just so fun and good. Its hard to tell where the dump file starts and the tech decisions begin, which is not unusual for Scintill, but this approach makes so much sense with E.E.T. Super fun to try to PFC and surprisingly still enjoyable on rates. If you want some quirky what the fuck shit, this is a great file for it.

[5-3] Affection Addiction - 8/10

Yolomania 2025 Ed. This file might not really fit all that well into this pack, but it sure is a good time. I felt that James milked this song for all that it has to offer--which is a lot. The song is cut into a number of distinct sections, and I felt that each section of charting did a really good job representing the overall feel--giving the player something new to play with every-so-often. I got some shit for including this, but I think it is a nice break from the weirdo stuff this pack forces onto the player. Pretty straight forward dumping decisions, but a great file.

[5-4] Careless Whisper - 8.5/10

Cool rendition of a very memorable and recognizable song. I enjoy this file because there are some false rhythms here that just fit so well. For instance straight 16ths that are supposed to be 12ths. It's really hard to know when to do stuff like this, and midare sometimes was able to fall on these in a fun way, but I think this file does it way more intentionally and those moments mixed in with the swingy accurate rhythms make for a cool experience. There's also enough going on here that most of the file feels refreshing despite having some repetitive shit musically.

[5-5] Your Clothes - 9.5/10
This file is truly amazing. It's something to just marvel at in the editor. Lots of crazy forced xmod stuff represents the music in such a distinct and interesting way. Playing this file is almost as much an experience as Samurai's gaspard file. Outside of the glitchy shit, the patterns Ptet uses here are some of the most interesting patterns I've seen in a long time. They look really abstract and challenging, but feel great to play, which seems to be a Ptet staple at this point. The only reason this isn't a 10/10 is because some of the xmod stuff takes you out of the experience on sightread. This might just be me being bad though. Amazing file.

[5-6] Maisie - 7.5/10

I almost never consider an anime song for a Lofty pack. A lot of anime music is derivative garbage (sorry) some of the shittiest upbeat rock music you can listen to (sorry) with English lyrics and titles that often make zero sense whatsoever (sorry) but this is a great song. Maisie truly has an emotional presence, and I think Sam represented these intense emotions well. I like that he limited his glitch stuff to basically one held note at the most heart wrenching vocal section, its tasteful and doesn't take the player out at all from the experience of playing the file, but rather, enhances it. Outside of this section, this is a pretty straightforward dump. The song kinda carries, but it's still cool to score on and fits well in the hands.

[5-7] Screw Loose - 8.5/10

This song promises to be crazy and this file delivers crazy. Shit is truly off-the-wall. It reminds me of myself from the drunk and high Lofty 1 days, but, like, better? It feels like ctrl + r but also feels too purposeful to be ctrl + r. It's abstract but like... is it? And that's what makes this file cool as fuck. I think most of the file sits in a place where it looks hard but its fun, which is good, however there are a few patterns that look crazy and are legitimately unfun which is why I didn't give it a 9 or 10. Still, though, the approach here is just so fucking mentally ill that I can't help but love it. Good luck, players. Good job, Ricetoast.

wanted to review a bit more yesterday but got distracted so i only looked at one file lol

[3-6] Leo1E7's OP - originally i was going to write about how this didnt feel like a leo chart because too many minijacks and weird snaps all over the place but then i double checked and realized more leo charts have those than i thought (satellite in acerola has 24th minijacks, both his vale 4 charts have pretty crazy snap usage). i guess i was thinking more of his older dump charts like his stuff in vale 2/minty 2. anyway good chart 5/7 maybe ill finish looking through this pack before 2027
