i think i'd rather have something like (conceptually) invisible bpm changes on every measure line that appear when you mouse over and turn real when you drag
this would be great and also would remove most of the reason i wanted a beat insertion keybind

https://files.catbox.moe/1l8axa.zip

fixed rmb + d/del to delete on drag + drag from any beat line + fixed catbox nuking the zip contents

had you started down the road of trying to do everything in row space all the time

this would be the most convenient way of doing things, but would also be a hell to implement without some big brain shit, maybe i gotta just suck it up and get utasm working before i go under the bridge and meet stepmania

yeah it's like. convenient for serialisation. otherwise it has zero merits

the way to think about it is there are multiple equivalent ways to represent a chart and converting between them is extremely cheap. so whatever edit you are doing to a file you want to do it in whatever representation is most convenient for that edit. for bpm change stuff you pretty much always want to move to something morally equivalent to (time, snap) and reconstruct the BPM changes once you are done

mine also has the 1.5x problem but you can detect it somewhat reliably if the onsets strengths follow the music stress by looking at the DFT of the onset times (when you only care about a couple frequencies you don't have to do a full FFT)
btw when i say this shit does it make sense to anybody
