Some context about the unknown charter from nuclear blast 2
even icyworld doesn't know who this person was and accepted one chart on his pack lol... so i'm gonna tell you the name of this person

Well the author of Welcome to Drakcore is ("白猫の隠れ里") Shironeko Rem or レム (REM) for Short
aparently he stayed active into the game charting until 2010 after Gotya 2010 pack, after that aparently dissapear, changed his name or retired from the game.
Why i mention "changed his name"? they are some cases when old japanese players changed their names to a different ones to still keep being active in charting, for example "Siva" which probably doesn't sound familiar but future name became "ShokuN".

Other chart by 白猫の隠れ里 https://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm7483594

for a while i was wondering why all of the files in Archmage and Dark0wl Hammer of Thor UltraHyperMegaPack have their audio cut out after about 2 minutes in. lurker provided an explanation when i mentioned this in eo:
Quote:
back in the day when people still used usb sticks in itg cabs, there was a limit on how long custom songs could be. it was originally 1m30s but it got extended to 2 minutes. to bypass this, someone made a metadata editor that would make the game think an ogg of any length was only like 1 minute 55 seconds or something
so the ogg lies about its length and that has various side effects, including screwing up seeking past 1m45s and making the audio stop after 1m45s in most audio players (stepmania/etterna gameplay seems to be a rare case where this *doesn't* happen)

the technical tl;dr of how this works in the first place is that they lie about the granule position in the last page of data, which is usually used for determining how long the audio is. seeking is done with bisection search which relies on knowing the audio length which is why that breaks. i guess sm/etterna gameplay does not care about the last page's granule position at all which is why its unaffected?
