So that was a fucking lie. Shipping decided to take 24 trillion years. I can finally confirm the amplifier makes me want to bust a nut though. To be honest, while I can definitely say it sounds better than my old amp, it's hard to give any real specifics because my old amp was broken for so long that I have nothing in recent memory to compare it to. I want to say there's more fidelity on the low end now that I'm using a beefier amp, which makes sense given that that's exactly where planars typically struggle when paired with lower end amps like what I used to have. Also, I swear I can close my eyes and pinpoint exactly where every instrument in the pit orchestra is located, though its definitely possible I'm placeboing myself on that specific claim. Either way, between all of that and the fact that this bad boy has balanced 3.5 mm, 4.4 mm, and XLR out, 50 gazillion different input channels, a sexy display and its own EQ, I'm more than pleased with my purchase. And yes, I know I need to dust my computer off, and I know my computer can create interference. I just set it up there for now and I'm gonna have to experiment with how much interference the pc actually makes and then fuck with the amps settings to try to diminish it, or more likely just end up moving it elsewhere. |

| Just bought a Sennheiser hd600 couple months ago and honnestly its the best headphone ive ever used. For me it fells like listening to music in my car, but if my car had great speakers and EQ lol. Together with it i use a Douk u10 mini tube amp wich adds a nice "warmness" to the sennheiser. Also, sometimes a use a Shanling UA1 plus Dac but honnestly it makes almost no difference to the audio. The biggest difference i had was EQing the headphone itself, not that the default one is bad, but you can get a little more bass (As the hd600's are perfectly neutral to me), and a tad bit more shimmer in the high ends. |

i actually bought a M50x STS when i was in the USA a little over a year ago. it was an upgrade from the previous M30x that i had and my first time buying something high(er) end, definitely no regrets about it although i'm not particularly fond of the microphone. unfortunately it has suffered a couple drops from my table so far but i really hope it lasts as long as yours has. now to get a speaker for when i have guests around... |
